Learn to Love your Shape
It's All About Shape
Welcome to the latest edition of our magazine. It’s been a busy month here at Hope with the launch of our Spring Summer collection and we were delighted to see so many of you at our Hope at Home preview events. I’m always excited to see how different women put together outfits from the range, often in ways we hadn’t even considered. At the beginning of the month I was flattered and nervous in equal amounts when I was asked to take part in a photo shoot for Sainsbury’s magazine organised by one of our favourite bloggers, Alyson Walsh (thatsnotmyage.com). The feature celebrated what Alyson calls FABSTERS - ‘fabulous women fifty and beyond’ and their different styles. I like to think of my style as relaxed and my confidence comes from knowing what clothes flatter my body shape, I like to hide my tummy and show off my legs, so a pop-on dress with a splash of colour is a staple part of my wardrobe. The one I wore for the shoot will be available to buy from March 21st, just in time for Easter. Understanding what shapes work best for our body is the key to dressing with confidence, so embrace your shape and learn to love it.

Don't put a label on your body shape
I don’t know about you, but I get tired of fashion articles that describe women in terms of their body shape. I’m not an apple, a pear or a banana, I’m simply me after two children and the menopause. Here’s me with the lovely Gabi Riggon - one of our campaign models. As you can see we have very different body shapes but we both want to feel beautifully confident. That’s what Hope is all about. So at Hope we talk about garment shape, not body shape. Hope clothing is based on our foundation range and a collection of relaxed, layering pieces that come in five key shapes; pop-on, drape, kimono, cocoon and asymmetric, that are designed to flatter and contour the body.
What Shape Works Best?
The Cocoon shape envelopes the body in a comforting way. You feel free and enjoy all the benefits of a forgiving silhouette.
The cut of our Drape styles lets the fabric flow and fall, disguising and flattering, creating a fluid silhouette.
The Kimono shape is universal and timeless. Uncomplicated, it fits all body types perfectly today as it did in ancient times.
The Asymmetric styles are pleasing to the eye. Diagonal lines lead the focus to the edge of your body, flattering your shape.
The Pop-on pieces are our easiest-to-wear shapes. Effortless dressing to suit all individual body types.
